Julie's Story
Well, if you're reading this - thanks for being interested in what's going on in my life.
Although my I've had a few dramatic moments, I lead a relatively simple life in San Jose, CA where I've been residing for the past 17 years. I am a very proud single mother to Whitney, who is 14, and to Jacob-Ryley who is 11. I am currently working at Michael's where I can lend my broad creative expertise to the many people who come to my store - many of whom don't know why they're there in the first place.
Whitney is an honor student and has already been the recipient of Who's Who Among American Students twice -- the first while she was in 6th grade and the second just this past year for her excellence in learning a foreign language. She will be a Freshman at Oak Grove High School (where Bill Walsh - 49er coach - coached football) and she can't wait - and to be honest -neither can I. I'm looking forward to the next 4 years to watch as she becomes a fine young woman. In her spare time she loves to shop, spend time with her friends, babysit, dogsit and tutor our Vietnamese neighbor with English as a second language.
Jacob-Ryley is my sunshine. He is always smiling and laughing. He loves his video games, professional wrestling and engaging in Nerf Gun Wars w...Expand for more
ith anyone who's willing to be his "enemy". He is in 4th grade and is also excelling with his educational goals. He has just recently taken up the love of books - which is a huge accomplishment for him. I am so proud of him and I'm anxious to see his growth continue.
If I'm not working or with my kids, I have quite a few hobbies and interests that fill my time. I have learned a few new talents as well - which would include crocheting. Over the past year, I have completed many projects with many more planned. This does pose a challenge when creating something as a gift for the kids -- so I've remedied that by telling them they're for someone else -- a lie that is forgivable under the Parental Exception Law. ;)
Although it may seem that I lead a boring life, I am very blessed that I am able to be with my kids as much as I am. I devote as much attention that I can give to them, and, as a result, have chosen to remain single until Whitney and Jacob-Ryley are a bit older.
At this stage in my life, I am happy with where I'm at. We have been through many trials along the way and yet I have no regrets whatsoever. Although I sometimes wish certain events in my life never happened - it's because of those experiences that make me the woman I am today.
