Julie's Story

Update, May 14, 2022: By 2023, we'll be married 40 years; can't believe it, time is flying by! I earned my MA in English, Creative Writing, in Poetry and Fiction, and have been teaching English and ESOL at the CCCs for 10 years now. Our daughter graduated from UOP 5 years ago and is engaged to be married May 2023. These are busy days as we help them plan their wedding, work, travel, and create new memories with our family and friends. I hope all of you, our El Camino classmates, are doing well as we all emerge from the pandemic, living our lives in this new normal. Enjoy this beautiful spring weather and keep in touch :-) By 1983, I was married to my wonderful husband of now 26 years. I have a 13 year old daughter and 37 year old stepson. We've moved around a bit over the years and are now settled in Roseville. I've done some traveling (Jamaica, Hawaii, Canada, WA, NY,...Expand for more
Indiana, NM, Florida and parts in between), and would like to do more international travel (Italy, France, etc.). For the first 20+ years we've been serial entrepreneurs, owning small businesses based in Sacramento. Over the last three years, I returned to college, have obtained my BA in English and am working towards my MA in Creative Writing with plans to teach junior college classes and follow my newest passion - writing. I volunteer and am working on a local school committee designing a new sports health academy for a Sac. high school. Our son is a CG specialist in the video game industry; and though he's been a confirmed bachelor, he just announced his engagement. Our daughter is an honor student, soccer player and pianist. Life has been and continues to be full of excitement, surprises, challenges, along with plenty of tears. I can't complain; it's all good.
