Julie's Story
Life
I was born in Endicott NY, and when I was 4 my parents moved to Grand Rapids, MI while my dad attended seminary. I lived in MI until I was 8, and then we moved back to NY. Our plans were to go to West Africa as missionaries, but we were not able to go and my dad became a pastor in rural PA. As a teen I served for 4 summers with Child Evangelism Fellowship, where I taught children Bible stories and explained how they could go to heaven by believing that Jesus paid the punishment for their sins when He died and rose again. I graduated from Appalachian Bible College with a major in Bible, Theology and Elementary Education. My husband and I plan to be missionaries in West Africa...Expand for more
. I am excited to share the salvation message with children in Africa!
School
I went to Southeast Academic Center from K-2nd grade, and after that I was homeschooled. I always loved school, and although I didn't consider teaching until my junior year of high school, I am now a teacher and love it. I think more people should try homeschool--I had a lot of great opportunities to learn and grow, and still had time for socializing and other activities. I attended Appalachian Bible College so I could learn to better serve God with my life. God is everything to me, and I loved studying about the Bible and preparing to teach in Africa. I hope to enter West Africa soon as a missionary!
