Julie's Story
Worked for the Dept of Justice for a couple years after high school. Then went to work for a Union benefit fund office for several years. Got married in 1976 to John (Dickie) Linkins. Had our first child in 1980 -- Leslie. She's 32 now and married. Had our second child in 1982 -- John. He's 30 and an electrician. Stopped working full time when John was born and stayed home with the kids (worked at night) until John went to pre-school then had a dream job where I worked only when the kids were in school. nham at a union benefit fund office and have been here ever since. I have 5 years until I can retire. Stayed in Bowie until 2005 when we moved over the 'bridge' to the Eastern Shore and wouldn't move back for any reason. Live on the outskirts of a small town (probably less than 1,000 residents) and still commute to work in Lanham. Still married to John (yes that's 35 years and counting). We spend a lot of time in Ocean City, we have a condo there. Have a granddaughter, Mallory Jane who was born May 2011. Now I know what all the fuss about grandchildren!! She's the light of my life.
