Julie's Story

Life Well, since HHS: I earned my Associate's from SRC; got married to Doug in 94; had our son Brendon (95); helped raise my 3 older (step) sons - Brad, Brock & Bryce; worked waaay too many jobs; joined Havana Area Prevention Team (99); tutored at the schools, etc. for AmeriCorps; taught Drug Ed. for LMMH; coordinated & taught day camps and after school clubs for U of I Ext.; had three beautiful granddaughters (Aeriann, Brooklyn & Brianna) and one grandson (Brent) thanks to Brad & his wife (Casey); went back to school to work on my bachelor's in Public Safety Mgmt; raised 6 Dalmatians (3 currently - Baby, Winnie & Eeyore); and stayed in Havana all this time. Currently I'm working part-time at CCC and MCSD so I can attend classes. When I'm not working or taking classes, I spend time with Brendon & our granddaughters, walking our Dalmatians, bike riding, visiting friends and occasionly seeing my husband. ...Expand for more
:) Doug is a full time Paramedic at MDH and a Paramedic instructor for SRC. With everything going on, we don't get a lot of time together - so we have to make it really count when we do. Doug & I have married for 15 years. We both had Dalmatians when we started dating & probably will for the rest of our lives. Brendon is 14 and in 8th grade (Man, do you remember junior high? Wasn't it like a couple weeks ago when we were there???). Brad, Brock & Bryce are 29, 27 & 23 this year. Our grandkids Aeriann, Brooklyn, Brianna & Brent are 10, 7, 5 & 7 mos. Our Dals: Baby is 13 and the 'pups' Winnie & Eeyore are 5. Update Jan. 2009 Our boy Bryce is home from the Navy - We missed him tremendously. He married his sweety Whitney in May of 08. Brock is married his sweety Lindsay in May '09. Brendon is only 14 so he better wait about 10 years before he plans on getting hitched! :) That's all for now...
