Kala's Story
Life
After graduating from high school, I went to Minot State for 2 years - majoring in accounting. My initial goal was to go for 4 years and become a Certified Public Accountant. However, in March of 1988, I married Richard Gustafson who went to Ray High School and also graduated in 1986. He joined the Marine Corps after high school, so when I finished my second year of college in 1988, I moved to Southern California where Richard was stationed. I worked as the Data Processing supervisor for DentiCare of California - the 2nd largest dental HMO in CA. Richard went to the middle east in December of 1990 as a part of Desert Shield. had another daughter Randi, (ironically just nine months after Richard's return!). And after 6 years in the service, we decided it was time to move back to "God's Country" in 1992. Richard now has a partnership with his father repairing grain elevators - R & R Elevator Repair Service. I have worked for the United States Postal Service in Williston since October of 1993. I also do the bookwork for my husband's business. (Finally get to use some of that accounting I loved so much!) In May of 1996 our third and final chance of having a son came and went. ANOTHER GIRL! Bailey is definitely our last child and after having a small group of little boys at the house, I'm not so disappointed about not having one! I would love to hear from some of you that I haven't seen since school!
