Karen's Story
Life
I live in Charlotte, NC, have been married 11 years to Paul Durfee and have 2 children, Mac 8 and Mary 5. We also have a dog, Murphy 13, and a cat BlackJack,7. The dog and the cat get along better than my kids!
I work for Clorox in sales and my husband works for Wachovia in their corporate offices. We love Charlotte, not as crazy as Atlanta (where I lived for the 14 years after high schoo), great weather, good sports teams, and decent shopping.
I spend most of my time shuttling my kids around to their various activities (baseball, gymnastics, boy scouts, tennis, etc.) but when I get a chance, I love to play tennis, read, shop, and snow ski. e country, so the majority of our vacations are spent visiting them. Paul and I have gone to France 3 times since we've been married, the last time with the kids. Paul is fluent in French and the kids are in a French immersion school where they are taught in French all day. They are all starting to have conversations that I can't understand, so I guess I need to get on the bandwagon!
My parents moved to Orlando about 10 years ago, so I don't get back to Yorktown very often. As you can imagine, a trip to see Grandma and Grandpa at Disney World is much higher on the kids' list (including Paul!) than a trip to Indiana.
We plan to stay in Charlotte, as long as Paul is working for the bank. Let us know if you are in the area.
