Karen's Story

Life I moved to California in 1982, then to Alaska in 1992. In 1994, returned to college, getting an AA degree in 1998. Returned to Reno 1998-2001. Will finish the BA in Sociology, the BS in Business Mgmt, and AAS in Social Work. Remarried in 2001, and returned to Alaska/Honeymoon in 2002. Currently have 8 grandchildren - 4 boys & 4 girls. School Mom said, "These are the best days of your life, so enjoy them." From the perspective of a parent/adult, I think perhaps I enjoyed them too much. No one could pay me enough to re-live those years, but I would do things differently. Like less partying and more...Expand for more
time investing in my education. My most memorable class was at Reed High School on Myths and Legends of the Supernatural. It opened my mind to a world of possibilites that I still study today. I never had a chance to thank the teacher (Mrs. Gowan?) for what she did by teaching that class. Merry Meet and Bright Blessing to her. College Returning to college as an adult is not exactly the same experience it is for someone just out of high school. Some of the Professors were younger than me. Rather strange, yanno? Workplace Hey, it was a paycheck. It's much more fun, and exciting, to work for yourself.
