Karin's Story

Life It’s hard to believe 36 years have passed since grad year in 1971. It’s so long ago and far away. I’d have to say I became a classic underachiever and a dabbler and dilettante. I took a year at Cap College, then went to work for some car dealers, back to school at Douglas College in Surrey, took Graphic and Communication Arts, while working at Safeway. Never really WORKED as graphic artist, just did freelance and free stuff. rvice and body shops, then a foreman. Moved to Gibsons in the early ‘80’s, then got married at 31 to a German guy and moved to Surrey, had 2 daughters, still live in the same house for the last 23 years. Was in a slump for most of the ‘90’s, my husband died in ’96, didn’t do a whole lot, then started working with the NDP again in 2005. These days I work as a constituency assistant for MLAs and MPs and enjoy it a whole lot more than the car shop gig. I enjoy my kids and my yard and read too much. Oh, and I’m still a terrible procrastinator and a lousy housekeeper. Cheers! Karin
