Karen's Story
So what have I been up to since high school, I had every intention of going to college? Well the college thing never did pan out. During my last year of high school I worked for Woolco Department Store in the Agincourt mall as a part time cashier and in the stock room pricing merchandise , once summer came along I was offered a full time job in the Advertising Department as an assistant to the Advertising Manager. I worked for the Advertising Manager till 1978 when I was offered the Advertising Manager position at Woolcoâs Ajax store. During my time at the Agincourt store I met my ex-husband, moved to the Durham and region have been living here for almost 34 years. Ii was married for 23 years when we divorced. Huntsville and I still have my youngest living with me along with our two dogs a boxer and a golden. During the years my boys were growing up I was a stay at home mom. When I went back to work after being home for almost 19 years I ended up working for Jostens/Lifetouch Photoâs where I traveled all over the Durham region taking students photo from Kindergarten to Grade 12 I worked for them for 10 years before taking on a full time job as a Veterinary Receptionist/Vet. Assistant for almost three years. I loved my job but as a single mom the pay sucked big time. I am now out of work and looking for a job. I have been thinking of opening my own pet care. Looking after dogs and cats well you are at work or out of the country. I also love taking pictures in my free time from landscapes to portraits.
