karen's Story
i didn't actually graduate w/the class of 1974
1974 is the last year that i attended Malden High. My parents died in 1972....My Mom died a few days before i entered 10th grade/MHS... then, a month later; my Dad died too. So, i remained a student at MHS for 10th and 11th grade....However, i transferred to Girls Catholic HS for Senior yr and graduated there in 1975.
After HS, i attended Fisher Jr College for 1yr and 3 mo....did not graduate. ...worked several jobs in the yrs that followed...have also attended Bunker Hill Comm College and Newbury College.
i got married in 1982 at the age of 25; had my first child at age 27 -- My daughter is now 38y/...Expand for more
o and rec'd her PhD at Northeastern University at age 27...she was a FT Faculty member at UNH until 2 yrs ago. She now works at a company called, Cultivate, as a consultant. i had my 2nd child at age 28. My son, who is now 36, is a US Army Green Beret and Ranger. He has been deployed 4x on missions in Iraq and Africa. He now has 2 children of his own and works as a FT Boston Firefighter.
After being married for 29 yrs; i divorced in 2011 and relocated back to MA.
i was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 35, and am a breast cancer survivor of 18yrs; an avid competitive runner, and have worked in the health care field for the past 22+ yrs.
