Karen's Story
Life
Been married over 5 years, but no kids. We were hoping to try soon, but sadly, my husband was diagnosed with brain/spinal cancer in March 2007. A lot got put on hold, but treatment went well and he is now cancer free.
School
In high school I was pretty involved with Leadership. I helped plan Homecoming, Winter Formals, Spirit Days, Prom, etc. I took a handful of AP classes and played tennis for a few years. Really wished we had still had a swim team... that would've been another athletic aspiration. Otherwise, during football season Rowdy Crowd was a lot of fun. All in all, I was pretty chill.
College
I went to CSUN right out of high school and graduated...Expand for more
4 1/2 years later with a Business-Marketing degree. I met my husband my sophomore year and we were inseparable from that point forward. Did a couple of years in a sorority and a few other campus orgs. While I never made it to Europe on exchange as hoped, overall, college was good.
Workplace
I worked at In N Out in high school and waitressed in college. Now, I am working in the Insurance Industry doing Project Management and Training. Nothing spectacular... just a steady corporate job. But it's paying the bills just fine, I like my co-workers, and I've got great health benefits, which has really helped us through the cancer thing. So, I'm not gonna complain. =)
