Karen's Story
Life
hmmm...where to start.I graduated the UW school of Medicine with a degree in Laboratory Medicine. I married in 1991, and I was happily divorced in 1999, so now I am a single mom with 4 kids; Matthew (born 1994), David (born 1996), Rebecca (born 1998), and Cameron born (2001).I love being a mom, and well as a professional. Therefore, I am currently working the graveyard shift as a laboratory medicine supervisor at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, so that I may be at home during the day with my children. As for my love life...I have been living with my partner Corey for 5 years now. Corey is a well-known Tsimshian Artist from Vancouver BC, we met in the Tsimshian dance group here in Seattle. We reside in the neighborhood of Magnolia in Seattle...we love this house and our neighbors are wonderful. I spend my days working out with my personal trainer, shopping, bike riding ,mountain climbing, meeting up with friends,and my weekends I prefer spending at the spa or having my massage therapist come to my home and "relax" me *smiles*.
I regret not keeping in touch with anyone from my home town, and rarely visit there any more. I would love to hear from any old classmates and/or friends if interested, you can reach me at ganhadakaren at hot mail dot com.

School

rs of high school.)I was in Band, choir, editor of photojournalism, played many sports...Basketball, Volleyball, and Track. I was known as the "teacher's pet", and competed in pageants my last years in school. I graduated Valedictorian of my class and haven't kept in contact since I moved in 1987. I visit on occassion. *sighs*
College
I attended the University of Alaska-Anchorage as a Biology Major for one semester...I hated the cold! I transferred to the University of Washington-Seattle in 1988. I attained my B.S degree in Laboratory Medicine from the UW School of Medicine in 1991. I also have a A.A. degree in Psychology and Microbiology. Yes, I was a book worm and attained my degrees in 3 1/2 years. I had the intention of becoming a Doctor upon graduation, but burned out from a hectic college schedule and work schedule I chose for myself.
Workplace
wow....I began as a Medical Technologist at Children's Hospital here in Seattle in 1991-1993. I continued as a Lead Medical Technologist at the Richmond Clinic in Shoreline, WA for the next 7 yrs. In 2001 I left the clinic for a position as a Medical Technologist Supervisor in Everett, WA. Upon a residential move to Magnolia, I accepted a position in downtown Seattle at Virginia Mason Hospital in 2003 so that I would be closer to my new home. I very much enjoy my field of expertise and plan on moving up the ranks into Management eventually.
