Karen's Story

Hello, If your reading this you must be either someone I currently know or someone to whom I have known. My life has been full of many events no differant from anyone else I am sure. I have been blessed beyond measure and could nearly write a book of my life. I love my family time. I have many friends. Pets, Dog, Emma and Cats Jenny and Bammers. I Love to watch movies. Love date night and I absolutely love to travel. On the lighter side I love to curl up with a glass of wine or hot tea and read a book. I am a scrapbook addict I must admit. Who wouldn't be with so much going on and so many kids. In high school I ran cross country and track was in student council only in my senior year. I hope my friends remember me for who I was and still am. I love to laugh, have a good time and of course occasionally get into trouble. I am recently married to my high school sweetheart, Mike Highfill from 1984 from Elk Grove High School. We married in 2006 and we are still going strong. We have 5 wonderful kids who contantly remind me to be a kid. I love seeing the world through their eyes. Dakotah, 19 who is currently a college student at Sonoma State University. She is a beautiful young woman Dakotah is Mike's daughter from his first marriage. Tanner, 14 & Kylan, 10 live in Oregon with the mother and visit during the holidays and are with us during the summer. Tanner and Kylan are Mike's sons from his second marriage. Tanner is your typical teenager who's day centers around whether or not he gets online to play WOW (World of Warcraft). He is very athletic and is very competitive. Kylan is such a bright boy, he loves to read. He can finish a nov...Expand for more
el faster than any adult I know. He loves to climb trees and is such a loverboy much like his dad. Hunter is my son from my first marriage. Hunter is a very loving boy who loves to to play on line any computer game he can get his hands on. He loves to shoot his bb gun and his bow. He on the other hand hates to read. He too is a very loving boy much like his dad whom we past away in 2005. Hunter has been through a lot for a child his age and I am encouraged that he will be a fine man when he grows up. Sawyer what can you say about a new child, they are into everything. He is such a big kid. Now at 20 months, he is 36 in tall and weights 33 pounds, not fat, just solid. He is constantly mistaken for a 2 year old. Now about my husband Mike. I have known Mike since I was 14 years old (1984); and we during our younger years were off and on again until I was 19 years old. We went our seperate ways there after. He retired from the US Navy in 2006 after serving in for 20 years as a rescue swimmer, if you've seen the movie the guardian that would be the closest thing to what he did. He has been in every war we have had since 1986. I am proud that he stuck with his career. Now he is a stay at home dad and I couldn't be happier. The kids benifit so much. He truly is the love of my life. Now about me. I work for Citibank and have for over 10 years, I am the West Coast Operations Manager, VP for the IT division. Big title..that's all. I work 40+ hours a week. As you can see I have a lot to keep me busy. I love my life. I hope that you find my story to be a little more about me today. What ever your story is...I would love to hear from you.
