Karen's Story
Life
Been there, tried that, back to do something with what I've learned (at least I hope-some mistakes should only ever be done ONCE).
After meeting/marrying a Swiss man in 1999, we moved to Switzerland in 2004 where I then learned German and later took a Trust Fund job in Zurich.
Deciding that after almost 8 years, that the marriage and Switzerland weren't for me, I returned to Vancouver February 2007. I basically took the summer off while submitting an application to the Canadian Forces, where January 24, 2008 until March 6, 2008 I pursued this career opportunity.
After almost 5 weeks of Basic Training it was at that point that I decided timing and career choice meant to temporarily suspend my military life. I returned to Vancouver March 7, 2008, here to job search, discover what I wanted to ...Expand for more
do with myself and perhaps redirect my career choices.
I found successful employment but through that position, decided that my career goals weren't being met so I quit and decided to take some College upgrading courses while also applying for the Sept 2009 CDA 10 month course at Vancouver Community College downtown.
An unexpected position came up in the Certified Dental Assisting course and thus as of Sept. 2008 I was suddenly a student!
July 2009 is the course completion, after which I intend on using this acquired education to take me places - LITERALLY. But we'll see if that path ends up being the one I'm on. Only time can tell.
I'm excited at what the future brings...
