Karen's Story
After graduating from ECHS, I spent several years at Contra Costa Jr. College. After that I transferred to UC Davis, graduating in Environmental Planning & Management, Interpretation. A weird sounding major, no doubt. It means I was trained for being a Park Interpreter, i.e., one who explains and manages the resources of a park for the general public. I worked for Nevada Division of State Parks for 25 years, and took and early retirement in 2004. Whoopie!
After that I traveled a bit, mostly with my Zen Buddhist group, to Malaysia, Singapore and I've been to Korea five times (our lineage). I have been on many temple tours, and gone over just to hang out with the Sunims (Monks and Nuns) at a...Expand for more
temple called Hwagyesa. Next to San Francisco, it's my favorite city in the world.
David and I traveled a lot to Mexico and went on several cruises. He just retired last year and is loving every minute of it. I've been married to David for 34 years (well, five of that was 'shacking'). We have one son and a granddaughter that is the light of my life, "Willow Moon" (ya, and he called me a hippie!)
I love photography, and have sold my work at the Pismo Beach Farmer's Market, and other venues on the CA coast. My other passion is knitting. Always knitting.
As I look through this site, and smile and treasure the friends and memories of high school. Wonderful to hear from you all! Karen ;)
