Karen's Story
Life
I have two children. My daughter Amanda will be 22 in July. She is married, and has given me two beautiful grandchildren. Darius turned two on Jan. 26th, and Jada was born on Jan. 16th. I just love being a grandmother. My son Damon will be 12 in April. I have worked at Alexander Correctional Institution for the past four yrs. I work there as a Correctional Health Assistant II/med. tech. Needless to say my job is very interesting. I live in Conover at this time. Angela Lackey's nephew, Wesley Smith. After high school I worked for awhile then joined the Navy. I served two yrs. active duty at Pearl Harbor, HI, then transfered to the reserves for the next six yrs. I lived a couple of yrs. in Virgina Beach. There I went to Kee College and became a Certified Medical Assistant. I worked at Portsmouth Naval Hospital for awhile. I finally became homesick for Hickory in the early 90's, and have been here since. I went to CVCC for awhile but have decided I really just like passing pills for a living. Ha! I guess that about sums up my boring life.
