Kari's Story

Life Hi- Boy it seems that highschool is a million light years ago. I have stayed pretty close to home in my years since high school. After graduation, I attended Augustana College and graduated in 1987 with a major in Accounting and minor in Business Administration. I married my high school boyfriend, Kelly Hourscht in 1988 and we had one beautiful daughter, Kelsey Jo, on April 13, 1989. We later divorced, but remain friends. I remarried in 1996 to John Flanagan, and have another daughter, Moriah Merideth, born June 28, 1999. We live on a farm right outside of Garretson, SD. My children are now 19 and 9 as I write this, and the most wonderful thing that has happened in my life. Kelsey will be a sophomore this fall at Augustana College (another Augie Doggie!) and majoring in Athletic Training with thoughts of PT school after graduation. ng, and is on a competitive skating and synchro teams with the Blue Mound Figure Skaters in Luverne. She also is a horse nut, and her horse, Thunder, is her best buddy and worst enemy depending on the day. She is a 4th grader at Garretson elementary. I am currently the Accounting Manager of a local telephone company, Alliance Communications that provides telephone service in the communities of Garretson, Brandon, Alcester, Hudson, Crooks, Baltic, Howard, Oldham, Carthage, SD, Hills, Steen, MN, and Inwood, Lester, Larchwood, IA. Hobbies include camping, horse back riding, and following my kids to any of their events. We have many pets on our farm. Two labs, 3 horses, and too many cats to count. My husband and I are very involved in 4-H and are members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Garretson. As you can see, not a hugely exciting life, but a happy one :)
