Karin's Story
My bio? Aren't we too young for this? I guess not as I peer out of , and try to see out of my NEW biofocals. Plus it seems like alot of you are grandparents. Jeez, I don't think I'm finished having kids yet. But it is cool to see that you do have grandkids.
I spent my last 2 years in a tiny town on the Mn/Iowa border, graduating from there. Although I have at least 2 really good friends from there, I felt like I never really fit in, and after my brother Mike was killed in a car accident in 1981, I really wanted to be back at CRSH to be somewhere where people really knew him. After high school, I went to cosmetology school, I really loved it, but I couldn't make enough to further my education, which was my long term goal. With some bumps and bruises along the way, husband #1, then husband # 2, I am finally back on my long term career goal. Which actually isn't long term anymore. I am a junior pursuing my degree in k-8 education, and a minor in science. Thank you Mr. Scobie, you really opened my mind to my natural love and aptitude for science. My real goal has always been my Master in Special Education, specifically EBD. For those of you who don't know what that is, ask me. I chose that area within the last 16 years. My very sweet wonderful older boy, who I love more than anything, except of course for his...Expand for more
little brother, was born with some VERY significant special needs. So I am going into this with my eyes ( and heart ) wide open, so I can hopefully help those parents, who like me need understanding and help. I have him pointed in the right direction... So keep going kiddo!
Remember when I said I wasn't done having kids? Well with marriage # 2, right before my 40th birthday, I had my second son. What a huge blessing another child is!!! He is the polar opposite of his big brother, but gosh do they look alike. They look like me!
So now that I have figured out that I have a really high I.Q., I am left wondering how the heck did I end up with 2 losers as husbands? Oh well, onward and upward!
While I am trying to figure out what to write, and going through the CRSH names, I am having some fun with memories. Alot of you I went to Brownies with, and church, and started out with in kindergarten. I see Dayna Mills, and remember when we had a 9th grade - girls only class. There was a bet of some kind where one of the guys sports team lost, and we had to shave some heads one day in that class. Do you remember Dayna, and Kelly and Cheryl?
If I ever remember where my digital camera is, I will add some personal pictures, of my and my fabulous boys.
If anyone would like to email and re connect, I would love to correspond!!
