Karin's Story
I currently live at the Mother Ship - St. Katharine's. We've become a residential apartment complex for seniors and things have changed drastically for our hallowed halls. Right now Kate, Gaynell and I are working with our alumni director, Rod to get the 130th Reunion details all ready to go for August 3rd. Be sure to get your registrations in. The festivities are being held at Renwick Mansion (St. Margaret's Hall) and parking needs to be over at Rivermont Collegiate in Bettendorf - a shuttle bus will take you over to Renwick and back again.
I live in the old library. I'm still unpacking and trying to get things put away. I was married to Leonard Michael "Mick" Cook, from Oldham, Lancashine, England. He was quite the character. But sadly he died on June 1st 2013 back home in Oldham while he was getting our flat ready for me to move back there. Now I am here until I can find a way home again.
So far I have managed to publish nine fictio...Expand for more
n novels and will be publishing four more fairly quickly now. One of those will be Mick's novel, which he'd just finished prior to his death. We were working on it the night before he died from a heart attack, so now it's my task to complete the editing and title. I have two novels in process about St. Katharine's. One is a comedy and the other a love story - between two people and a lovely old building about to be torn down, then renovated by a former graduate - sound familiar??
I have no children, just an old cat named Jade, who came to me as a rescue. She's very quiet (which I am not used to), spoiled rotten (no, she doesn't wear clothes or costumes) and toddles along like I do. She loves to sit on my walker, so that's fine. As long as she doesn't want to push it, I don't mind!!
Hope to see you all this August at our hallowed halls. It should be a wonderful time to say hello, catch up and see what we've all been up to all these years.
