Karin's Story
Hey everyone!!! So here goes.................
I graduated in 1983 and went to Vermont College of Norwich University in VT and it wasn't for me. I left after the first yr and went to work. I got married married in 1988 and had my son Zachary in 1989. I was divorced in 1991. In 1990/91 I enrolled myself in Rob Roy Academy and received my Barber/Stylist. I worked in Ayer and Ft Deven's for a few yrs and realized that it wasn't for me there was not enough money to live. I went to work for O'Cedar Brands in Lancaster, MA for a few years until they shut the doors.
I struggled as a single parent for many years, working 2 jobs to make ends meet. I am a member to St Anthony's church in Fitchburg and became a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. I put myself through college in 2000 at Quinsigamund CC. I moved to CT for awhile and ran a catering truck. That was a great job. In 2003 my son and I decided that there was nothing here for us anymore and we needed a change. We packed up everything and drove 1000 miles to NC. We have been in NC for 5 years now and love it. My son started 8th grade when we arrived and in 2008 he graduated. I worked for GE in the PMI processing department for a couple of years and now I am a Project Manager at Butler. I manage over 600 Techs for various projects and I love what I do. I travel for wo...Expand for more
rk and I can even work from home. In June 2006 I was diagnosed with cancer and had to have emergency surgery. I am cancer free now and continue to be. I am very active in my church here in NC, I am apart of the Prison Ministry, a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
Over the years I have grown to love riding on motorcycles, I don't have one right now, hopefully soon I will be able to buy another one. For now I ride with friends.
I love the beach and go every opportunity I can.
One thing that I realized in life is, treat others as I would like to be treated and Life is short, enjoy every moment. Also, for every challenge in my life has been well worth it, they were growing pains for me and they are what makes me the person that I am today.
Since my son turned 18 last year, he has talked me into getting a Facebook and Myspace page. So for now, that would be the best way to get ahold of me. Look me up there and we can be in touch.
I hope all of my classmates and friends are all doing well in life and hope to catch up soon.
OK, here is a new update, my Son turned 19 this past Dec. and the end of Feb. 2009 we moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. My son is working at Legend's in Concert and I work from home.
Please look me up on Facebook, my name has not changed from High School. Would love to be in touch with former classmates and friends.
