Karl's Story
I married Ruth Cimbala (DHS 1961) We celebrated 50 years last November. .We married after I graduated from Penn State and Navy Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI. in 1963 I am president of Coordinated Financial Services (CFS). We work with nonprofits across the country mostly in fundraising.
I like the Steelers (past season ticket holders) and the Pirates. Still love the Porky oldies. Ruth and I have traveled the world. We have visited all seven continents, most of them many times.
Ruth and I have a son and a daughter, three grandkids, all in Pgh. We live on Washington;s Landing which is an island in the Allegheny River in the City of Pgh..

He is past president of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club, the Pittsburgh Jaycees, Pittsburgh Optimist Club, Pittsburgh Business Development Club and the Pittsburgh Downtown Neighborhood Association. He has also served on a number of nonprofit boards and an insurance company based in Belize.
After graduation in June of 1963 Karl went to Navy Officers Candidate School in Newport, RI. He received his officerâs commission on the same day that President Kennedy was assassinated. This led to a lifelong interest in the Kennedy family especially John Kennedy. Karl enjoys reading and collecting books. He has an extensive collection of books and magazines on the Kennedy family (over 4,000 volumes).
He and his wife, Ruth, have been married 53 years. They have two children and three grandchildren, all in Pittsburgh. They live on an island in the Allegheny River in the heart of Pittsburgh.
