Karla's Story
Life
So much has happened since 1990! I went to SU and earned a BA in Music Education in 1996. In 1997 I began teaching Special Education in Dorchester. That same year I became the Senior Chancel Choir Director for Zion United Methodist Church. I finally finished my Master's Degree in Special Ed through Wilminton College in 2007. Along with working and going to school, I have my own voice academy where I provide aspiring local singers with vocal instruction. My youngest student is 10 and the oldest is 65. It's like music therapy!
Among the most exciting things I have done since graduation, other than getting engaged and married, was traveling to England to participate in a benefit concert for orphans in Romania.
