Karrie's Story

During the spring of 3rd grade at Olive View Elementary my family moved from Corning, CA to Anderson, CA. The summer before I began 4th grade my family moved to Chico, CA. In the summer after my sophomore year at Pleasant Valley HS my family moved from Chico to Grass Valley, CA. After I graduated from Nevada Union HS I enlisted in the US Air Force (USAF). My first assignment was at Fairchild AFB, WA from 1978-1981 where I met my husband Randy. We were both assigned to the 92nd OMS as aircraft mechanics. In 1981 we retrained in to new career fields and were assigned to Kadena AB, Okinawa, JP from 1981-1985. I worked in the CBPO (Base Intro/Inbound Assignments) and Randy worked above Base OPS in the communications career field. Randy and I traveled to Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, China, Malaysia including Singapore and Penang Island. We loved our vacations. In 1985 Randy separated from the USAF at Travis AFB, CA and I was assigned to Goodfellow AFB, TX. Randy worked as a civilian contractor with the Air Force at the PAVE PAWS site at Eldorado AFS, TX. I worked in Customer Service and the Promotions and Testing offices in the CBPO. While stationed at Goodfellow I ap...Expand for more
plied for many assignments in Europe but was never selected for one. I was disappointed because I love to travel. My daughter Kristen was born in 1987 and my son Kurt was born in 1992 in the same hospital in San Angelo, TX. In 1989 I separated from active duty and enlisted in the US Air Force Reserves (USAFR) and I retrained in to another career field (Chapel Management),attended college and worked at Kinder Care Learning Center. In 1993 I separated from the USAFR (due to weight/body fat) and attended school to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. I worked in the same hospital that my kids were born in. During this period Eldorado AFS closed forever and my husband was hired in December 1995 at the PAVE PAWS site on Beale AFB, CA. The kids and I moved to CA in June 1996. For the past 12 years I've worked with special needs students (ages 3 to 22) and attended college. I'm presently unemployed. Now for a bit more about me... I've accepted the fact that I'm a doormat for those that use Machiavellian tactics in order to get ahead. I live by the "Golden Rule" and help those less fortunate than me. I've a desire to do something other than recycling to help save the environment.

I am going to miss Patches. We have to attend to Patches eye and ear infections, immunizations and grooming before we attempt to re-home him
What are you doing to this pup, Anna Bradshaw? LOL!

Somebody needs to come and get their dog! We can't keep him! There are no shelters taking homeless dogs right now. I'm peeved.
The pup went to live with a family I trust.

The little black bunny Jack belongs to our neighbor Chris. He has been trying to catch Jack for a week or so. Chris learned that Jack had been pushing the cage door open and escaping. Bad Jack!
The Facebook Timeline confuses this old gal. LOL I should replace my android with this phone.
