Karrie Lange:  

During the spring of 3rd grade at Olive View Elementary my family moved from Corning, CA to Anderson, CA. The summer before I began 4th grade my family moved to Chico, CA. In the summer after my sophomore year at Pleasant Valley HS my family moved from Chico to Grass Valley, CA. After I graduated from Nevada Union HS I enlisted in the US Air Force (USAF). My first assignment was at Fairchild AFB, WA from 1978-1981 where I met my husband Randy. We were both assigned to the 92nd OMS as aircraft mechanics. In 1981 we retrained in to new career fields and were assigned to Kadena AB, Okinawa, JP from 1981-1985. I worked in the CBPO (Base Intro/Inbound Assignments) and Randy worked above Base OPS in the communications career field. Randy and I traveled to Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, China, Malaysia including Singapore and Penang Island. We loved our vacations. In 1985 Randy separated from the USAF at Travis AFB, CA and I was assigned to Goodfellow AFB, TX. Randy worked as a civilian contractor with the Air Force at the PAVE PAWS site at Eldorado AFS, TX.
