Kate's Story
After HS, I went to UC Berekeley and got my BA in Child Psych. Met my first husband in Hawaii (where my dad was stationed). We were married for a little over two years; lived in Berkeley, Eugene and then Lake Oswego OR. Went on to Lewis and Clark College (Portland, OR) and got a Masters (in Teaching). Got divorced in '02. Did the whole Eat, Pray, Love thing...Gilbert wrote my story!
I've been teaching in Portland now for 8 years. I got married in September '06 to Matthew Chase. We have a daughter, Chloe who was born in December of 06. We hope to have at least one more if not two. I love teaching third grade and wouldn't trade it for the world! Next year ('09) I get to try out 4th grade for the first time. N...Expand for more
ever thought I'd end up in Portland but here I am and I have to say it is one of the nicest cities in which I've lived! I love being a mom and am happier than I ever thought possible! I'd like to reconnect with old CC and Track buddies. I'm training for the Portland Marathon right now and plan to run in Oct.
Update: Ran the Helvatia 1/2 and am close to the Marathon on Oct. 5th. I just accepted an administrative position for the David Douglas School District and am figuring out my new job description: Title I Parent, Family and Community Involvement Coordinator. It poses exciting possibilities. I get to work 1/2 time so I can still be home with Chloe most of the week!
