Life
I'm living in Northern Virginia, working, and trying to get out more.
School
Looking back on high school, I remember feeling stressed out and often isolated. But what I remember even more are the good things: getting to know people with different interests and backgrounds, learning to appreciate the music I played, and being exposed to interesting ideas in so many of my classes.
College
My time at UNC was OK. I didnt fit in, but having lots of freedom was great, and I learned some important lessons. Then ...Expand for more
I got a masters at Penn State in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. Five years later, I went to Duke for a law degree. I didn't practice law for very long, but I did enjoy law school.
Workplace
I've had a pretty eclectic career, mostly working in "tech-adjacent" jobs where details matter: software testing, broadcast law, selecting and monitoring federal grants for broadband infrastructure/adoption/planning, preparing H1B visa applications, and now reviewing applications to export military technology.
