Kitty's Story
Life Story:
Born in Addison, Michigan while Dad attended MSU then parents moved to Southern California in May'61. My brother, Geoff, was born in April '65 then we moved back to Michigan in '68. My parents started Day Construction building homes in Adrian, Lake Somerset (Addison), Adrian, Tecumseh & Clinton. We lived in all 5 places which meant changing schools & making new friends so adaptability was crucial. After high school graduation, attended Michigan State University, worked full-time during my last two years and graduated with a B.A. in Graphic Design. Got married in Aug.'84 then moved to Norcross, GA in '85. Lived & worked there & then Cumming, GA from Sept.'85-August'91. Moved back to Michigan (Northville) then Tecumseh while working at Warner-Lambert in Ann Arbor from Sept.'91-Oct.'96. Remained in Tecumseh, worked at Tecumseh Corrugated Box Company (HR Dept.) from Nov.'96-April'98 then relocated to Missouri after my divorce in '98. Worked for Northrop Grumman (formerly Litton Interconnect Technologies) from July'99-Jan.'02 in Springfield, Missouri. Had a little girl, Sarah in Sept. 2001 & have been a stay-at-home mother since her birth which is challenging yet enjoy it & wouldn't trade it for anything! She is a 2nd grader this fall & we've homeschooled her since Nov.'08. I resigned at the same time as a substitute teacher for Dallas County, Kindergarten & 1st grade parent volunteer & PTO Secretary/Donations Coordinator.
Also, have 2 step-daughters, ages 23 & 21 that live in Hot Springs, AR. The oldest, Holly, has Ace, little boy, 3 yrs old & a little girl, 12 mos.
The youngest, Kayla, is currently working full-time & making plans to travel the country.
Haven't been back to Michigan for a visit since leaving in 1998 & wanted to make it back for the Fall Festival/Reunion but due to family commitments, it won't be possible. Went to Colorado during the summer of 2004 for 3 weeks & loved it! We will be moving to Colorado Springs before the end of 2009 so have alot to get done. My parents lived in N. Georgia from '84-'06. They moved to Northern Texas near my Mom's sister & brother-in-law. My brother, Geoff, has been living in North Georgia since '94 & has been working construction for 25 years. If there is anything else you want to know, write me via the classmates message center...Hope everyone is happy & healthy, take care & God Bless!
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen & front porch and add on a garage plus back screened in porch. My dream home would be a log home in Colorado.

I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to the church & community, then spend the rest on all those people that I love, Class A RV and trips around the USA with my husband & daughter.
My best friend would tell you I have a great sense of humor, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as prim & proper. Ha!
I share my home with husband, 8-yr old daughter & 87-yr old father-in-law, 1 dogs & 2 cats, which I find a test of my wits some days but at the same time gratifying.
In 10 years, I hope to be still married to the same man, watching my daughter graduate from high school, continuing to travel in the U.S.A., still doing my art, spending more time with grandchildren (wow, does that make me feel old) and visiting friends & family more often. I'm going to get there by hmmmmm, still working on that but will keep on keeping on!
My first job was at Day Construction working for my parents, where I got paid minimum wage to clean new houses before carpet/vinyl installation prior to listing with the realtor. What I remember most about it was working without alot of supervision & having my own money to spend!
Well, one I can think of right off hand is when my family lived in California & we had a white cat & a black cat and both had kittens at the same time. We had kittens everywhere when I was about 3-4 yrs. old. Might be why my parents nicknamed me Kitty?!
I always wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they weren't completely wrong.
My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be OLD! I was so completely off-base...
I get one do-over: that's a tough one because if anything changed in my life history then wouldn't be where I'm at today.
I blow off steam by walking, mowing, playing FarmTown or Frogger, napping!
My hero would be Jesus Christ! He sacrificed his life for us knowing that was his Holy Father's plan for him. My other heroes would be military veterans that have served our country both at home & abroad with unfailing dedication. They deserve the best & our appreciation when they return home!
My oldest friend: We went to grade school together at Devils Lake & our parents were good friends. Her parents owned an apple orchard & some of my best memories are from the times spent helping, playing & growing up around her family (all brothers until her younger sister came along). Even tho' we don't see each other much, still consider her one of my oldest (not in age) friends!
