One of Kathleen's favorite quotes is:""You're the one who thought psychopaths were so interesting, but they're kinda tiresome after awhile, don't you think?" --- Christopher Walken, Seven Psychopaths “Hunting is not a sport. In a sport, both sides should know they're in the game.” ~ Paul Rodriguez "There's nothing funny about what Christ said and what's funny, really, is the fact that Christ said all these good things about 'Love thy neighbor' and everything, and for the next 2000 years, people are killing each other and torturing each other because they can't decide HOW he said it." ~ Terry Jones "I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness, the astonishing light of your own Being." ~ Hafiz "Cancer can take away all of my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart, and it cannot touch my soul. And those three things are going to carry on forever. I thank you and God bless you all." ~ Jim Valvano "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind." ~ Dr. Seuss "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor." ~ Archbishop Desmond Tutu. "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." ~ Mahatma Gandhi "What do you mean girls can’t play rock and roll? I’m sitting in school with girls playing cello and violin, playing Beethoven and Bach. What do you mean girls can’t play? Do you mean they can’t master the instrument? No. You don’t mean that. What you mean is socially they’re not allowed to because rock and roll implies sex, and so if you’re looking at Mick Jagger, the cover of Sticky Fingers, you’re looking and thinking about Robert Plant and you picture him with his shirt open, now these are my references because this is what I grew up with and these are the singles I listened to. ‘A Whole Lotta Love,’ you go listen to that. That’s a dirty single. This is what I grew up with and being told you can’t do it because you’re a girl, just didn’t wash. My parents always told me I could be anything I wanted and I believed them." ~ Joan Jett "Why is it that when we talk to God we're said to be praying but when God talks to us we're schizophrenic?" ~ Lily Tomlin "As to the Seven Deadly Sins, I deplore Pride, Wrath, Lust, Envy, and Greed. Gluttony and Sloth I pretty much plan my day around." ~ Robert Brault "If you judge people, you have no time to love them." ~ Mother Teresa "Non-violence means dialogue, using our lang...Expand for more
uage, the human language. Dialogue means compromise; respecting each others rights; in the spirit of reconciliation there is a real solution to conflict and disagreement. There is no hundred percent winner, no hundred percent loser, not that way but half-and-half. That is the practical way, the only way." ~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama "There on the cricket's singing stone, she spares the bogwood fire, and hums in sad sweet undertone the songs of heart's desire." ~ "My Lagan Love" by Seosamh MacCathmhaoil (Joseph McCampbell) "You are never alone or helpless. The force that guides the stars guides you too." ~ Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (1921-1990), Indian Philosopher A great nation is like a great man: When he makes a mistake, he realizes it. Having realized it, he admits it. Having admitted it, he corrects it. He considers those who point out his faluts as his most benevolent teachers. He thinks of his enemy as the shadow that he himself casts. If a nation nourishes its own people and doesn't meddle in the affairs of others, it will be a light to all nations in the world. ~ Lao Tzu 老子 "Old Master" (6th century BCE) Mystic Philosopher of Ancient China, Author of Tao Te Ching 道德經 "Stand for something or you will fall for anything. Today's mighty oak is yesterday's nut that held its ground." ~ Rosa Parks "Whether one is rich or poor, educated or illiterate, religious or nonbelieving, man or woman, black, white, or brown, we are all the same. Physically, emotionally, and mentally, we are all equal. We all share basic needs for food, shelter, safety, and love. We all aspire to happiness, and we all shun suffering. Each of us has hopes, worries, fears, and dreams. Each of us wants the best for our family and loved ones. We all experience pain when we suffer loss and joy when we achieve what we seek. On this fundamental level, religion, ethnicity, culture, and language make no difference." ~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama "Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side are they. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny." ~ Yoda". More about Kathleen:"Um…. Let’s see…. I was a legal secretary for about 21 years. That ship has sailed I believe; I don't think I can work for attorneys at this stage in my life. I've always loved (LOVED!!!) forensics, but didn't want to go to college for 14 years when I got out of high school, so I never became a forensic pathologist, which is what I wanted to be since I was 10. Well, I'm going back to college, and hopefully, in a couple of years, I'll be able to do something in the forensics realm, either crime scene investigation or forensic psychology. (I'm leaning toward forensic psychology. Criminal rehabilitation and profiling is interesting to me) We'll see where life takes me. :D I feel very strongly about basic, civil, human rights. If I had gone to law school, I would have done civil rights law. If I had oodles of money, there are so many causes I would support. Discrimination on any level is abhorrent. I love to learn about stuff. I try to pick a topic every month and just study it -- read lots of different media regarding that topic and learn what I can.".
