Kathleen's Story
Kathleen is from Florence, Kentucky. She is separated and planning to move back to Northern Kentucky by the end of 2022. Her schools include Boone County High School. She later attended Tampa College (Associates in Paralegal), Florida Metropolitan University (Bachelors in Criminal Justice), Allied Business School (Property Management, Real Estate). A survivor of viral pnemonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. I was hospitalized in July 2009 and remained in ICU for 3 weeks where I nearly died. My husband stayed by my side during that time. On July 31st 2009 I was transferred from an acute care hospital to a long term hospital for weaning of life support. Today I am thankful to be alive and live each day as if it is a gift. Due to the mortality rate of a double lung transplant, I am no longer a candidate. I pray everyday for a miracle and ask everyone to remember me in their prayers.".
I spend my days volunteering and fund raising for community events. I serve on the board of directors of a Community Development District, and the rest of the time I just worry about where I’m going to park myself at on the beach.
