Kathleen's Story
Just sent this out to Linda Berger & figured I would share it: BTW: I am a Dominican Sister, Amityville; yeah, they got me! ;-)
It would take too long to tell you everything so I will give you the "Nutshell" version: I taught for 18 years -- 4th grade for the first 5 years & Jr.Hi. after that. I loved teaching 7th & 8th grades!! I was an AP (Asst. Principal) for 5 years, went back to teaching for 2 years & felt my world had shrunk about 90%. I was a supervisor for Special Ed for the Bklyn. Diocese for 3 years while I was getting certified for Administration & then became a Principal for 3 years. t Hofstra University until my Bishop let me & 2 other Sisters from other Universities go in favor of "young people." I really loved those 10 years! The past 2-1/2 years I worked in the Law Library at Hofstra until 9 to 5, 5 days a week got to be too much. I am now "in between opportunities" looking for a PT job. In between all of that, I got my BA, an MS & an MA. My Dad died in '83 & my Mom in '91. I have 15 nieces & nephews & 10 grands -- # 11 on the way. You may know my sister Mary Ellen; I think she was the class of '65. She has 2 daughters & 3 grandchildren & lives in Florida [outside Orlando in Altamonte Springs. My brother Pat is in Texas, Betty is Up-State NY, Bill is on LI, and Marian is in Georgia. Enough for now. Keep smiling!! ;-) PEACE & Love! Kathy [a.k.a Sister Devota & Sister Kathy]
