Kathryn's Story
Life
Bill and I have been married for 31 years and we have two grown children, Shannon 30, and Eric 28. We're currently living in Coalinga, CA and love it. Growing up, my family moved around quite a bit (Addison, IL; Chanute, KS; Kettering, OH; Streamwood, IL) and even after Bill and I married, we continued to move around (Carpentersville, IL; Orange/Garden Grove, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Thousand Oaks, CA and finally Coalinga, CA). Coalinga was the last place I ever wanted to live and then for the next 5 years after moving here, we fought to stay (Bill has worked for Kmart for nearly 29 years and we got transferred a lot). Coalinga is the longest I've ever lived in one place and this is now home and I can't picture living anywhere else. I am the program director (which I love most of the time) for a college child development program (7 sites/160 staff/750 children. I also teach part-time at the college.
I completed my BS at California University Fresno in 2005, my MA in 2008 at University of Phoenix and am currently working on my doctorate in Educational Leadership also through the University of Phoenix. A little late in life, but better late than never.
Shannon is married and doesn't live too far away. She is a teacher/ principal of a Christian school. She is also very active in a couple of church music groups and plays several instruments.
Eric enlisted in the Army right out of high school in August 1999. He is a SFC and is an Intel Analyst. He deployed to Afghanistan in June 2009. He has made the decision to make the Army a career.
