Kathryn's Story
I went to RVRHS from 1965 through 1967, graduating that last year. I didn't know many people. I remember blowing up the Chemistry Lab with Richard Clark and having fun with Linda Kutch, Becky Benzo and Julie McGuire (1966). I worked 2 jobs at that time, which meant less time to be active in any extracurricular events.
Immediately after graduation, I enrolled and then graduated from a small school and got a certificate to be a graphic artist. I worked in that field until the recession of the 70's then went to Atlantic Community college and got my AA degree in Art and Science. I studied Speech Communication at Syracuse University, grad with degree in that then went on to Grad School as a teaching assistant at S.. In addition I took as many fine art classes any where I could.
Through out my life I worked hard as an artist. Showing my work when I could. Today, I am retired, and pursuing my artistic career full time. I have showed in 5 times ...Expand for more
this past year and will have a one person show in February and March of 2013. I have a studio in Syracuse area as well as one in Vineland, NJ to use, when I visit family and friends.
I was married in 1982 to a great athlete, well known Marathon runner, Bob. I have run a 5 k and 10 k race, which I am very proud of doing, and used to swim a mile a day. Presently I am totally out of shape, despite working towards some positive end..
Never had children, though wanted them. Nevertheless friends and family have them and I really enjoy them. My focus is art and that includes all aspect of making, showing and teaching other artists to realize their potential.
Politically, I volunteer for the grassroots organization, Organize for America, and run the phone bank to support President Obama. Human rights is my priority. Participatory Democracy is the aim. I love religion/politics and humor and try to incorporate it in my art work whenever I can.
