Kathryn's Story
Hi Everyone,
Glad to hear from some of you already!
I went to Northeast Mo State (I can't get used to calling it Truman!) after High School and was loving working on a Journalism degree...until I met my Husband, Jerry and moved back to St. Louis. We married in 1982 and settled in Hazelwood, MO where he grew up. (I am the only person you will meet that grew up in St. Charles and settled in North County!) It took us seven rough years to finally have our wonderful Daughter, Shannon. I went back to school after working for several years before we had Shannon, and believe it or not, got my R.N. I worked for nine years as an Ortho/Rehab nurse and eventually went Per Diem and worked throughout the hospital in most areas. In 1998, I had to quit to stay home to take care of several family members through the years that have been very ill, and have also enjoyed being a Mom! ay-at-home Mom as much as I have). Now that Shannon is in school and loving Columbia, I am thinking of going back to Nursing and trying to get up the nerve to get back out there. I hope to be a little choosy on what type of Nursing I do, since this is a wide open field right now.
I've been wracking my brain trying to remember everyone. My Mom became the Journalism teacher after we all graduated. She has lots of photos out where she lives in Colorado now, and, when she sends them, I'll try to get them posted for you all to see.
I am so sad to hear of some of our classmates passing. I especially mourn the loss of one of my dear friends, Denise Piper Wallerich. That's why it's especially wonderful to hear from all of you that are having a great life!
Does anyone know how to post names on here from our class? I still stay in touch with some that aren't listed.
