I came to Traer mid-year, 10th grade with 2 skinned knees--remember? I jumped into Geometry midstream and had to catch up. My favorite color was orange so I lobbied for the orange roses at our graduation. I went to Iowa State University because it had a good academic reputation, beautiful campus and three guys for every girl. I met my husband, Gary, in freshman English. We married 6/4/71. Upon graduation, we moved to Denver, CO and then to Julesburg, CO for the airport since Gary and his boss flew small planes. I taught 7th-12th grade Art in Big Springs, NE, for one year. We moved to Sterling, CO in 1976, where I was an ad"man" for the daily newspaper [like my Dad]; then back to Iowa when our daughter, Emma, was a year old in 1979. rn in 1980; then in Davenport 2 yrs. We finally moved to Colorado Springs where we belong! Mary was born in 1984 and twins, Jonathan and Abigail in 1989. I'm now a grandma to Emma's children, Alana [7/04], Taryn [3/06] and and Kian [9/09] and Rachel's daughter, Taylor, [4/2000] and son, Christian [5/02]. I spent over 25 years with Discovery Toys, Inc. while raising our family and earned trips to Acapulco, London, Montreal, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. I work as little as possible anymore!! But my dear hubby, a financial planner, works very hard!
P.S. Abi has Down syndrome and I've wondered if anyone else has children with it and how they're doing. She has type 1 Diabetes and the other kids have other special conditions so I've learned more about medicine than I ever planned. We had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from Ireland.
