Kathryn's Story

Life I live in McAllen, Texas. Now happily married to a BAHS ex-classmate! What a great surprise for me & Stephen Seelmeyer! I lived in El Paso, with the exception of 2 years, until we married in September of 2009. He's a high school History teacher here in the Rio Grande Valley. I'm so blessed to have had a rich & full life. John McElhannon and I were happily married for 35 years. He passed away from cancer in 1997. I was widowed for over 12 years when Steve & I met at a BAHS reunion planning meeting in July of 2008. My 2 children are grown and have blessed me with 3 wonderful grandsons--twins, Nicholas & Wesley and their younger brother, Joey. The best part of life! RN, as a Christian Family Counselor for over 20 years. Before that time I sometimes I supplemented our income as a Secretary or Receptionist. When our children were small and through their grade school years, I was very happy to be a stay at home mom and housewife. And here I am starting a wonderful new life in the beautiful sub-tropical Rio Grande Valley! Seventy miles from the Gulf of Mexico, and South Padre Island, with flocks of wild parrots and alligators! It is a drastic change from living on the high desert in El Paso all my life. Steve considers El Paso his home town, too, and we miss it a lot. But he had a good job here and he plans to retire in just 2 more years. We're enjoying being together, our families, and life!
