Kathryn's Story

Life I began life as Kathryn Wade in South Memphis. Two older brothers, Snookie (James-deceased) and Richard , I then became Kathryn Harris (Neighborhood boy-College & Mc Lemore), next came Kathryn Trazino (New York), and finally Kathryn Wall (After no contact for 30 years I married my High School Sweetheart). I think three is enough, so I'll quit now. I have two children, Joseph & Deborah and a 30 year old granddaughter Alicia, I was a stay at home Mom most of my children's learning years, did the whole bit, baked cookies, school trips, Jr.Girl scout leader for three years. Went back to work just as computers were coming into the work place, I worked as an Administrative Assistant in the general services & procurement department at Corporate Headquarters of Hudson United Bank until June 2001.(I'm now retired and we are planning a major move to SC) We live in Warwick, New York, about 60 miles N W of Manhattan, lived in the same house for 39 years (Nothing like the mid 50's in South Memphis). Now it's time to see some of the places in this "Great United States" that I've only read about, so we plan on doing a little traveling. Update: We moved to Murrells Inlet, SC in July 2003, and are planning our fourth trip to Maui in 2005 to visit our other granddaughter Kayla. In October '06 went on my first cruise and too my surprise I really enjoyed it. (Motion sickness) We are both doing a lot of work with the Shriner's, Mason,Eastern Star and American Legion lodges. A sad update my big brother Richard was called home at the ...Expand for more
end of March this year he was buried with full military honors in Memphis where it all began. Nov. 28, 2009 just two days before our 24th anniversary CV passed away after a two year battle with lung cancer, now the hardest thing I've ever had to face begins, the future without the love of my life. .I don't really remember may of the kids I went to South Side or Cummings Grammer School with, we spent a lot of time across the street smoking, lets see there were the lovers, Don & Shirley, Elizabeth she worked at the dine store on Main St during Christmas, Frances Fink, Jo Haynes, M M Smith, Peggy Arledge, Joe Grice, Joe & Ghedda Holt, Judy House. Just turned 73 yesterday (6/6), went through 35 doses of radiation, 9 weeks of chemo for Lung Cancer, In remission with Gods Help. Most people say I look about 10 years younger than my age, naturally my daughter says I act about 10. As life goes on, I'm going to enjoy what's left of it. Last time I was in Memphis and did any sight seeing had to have been 15 years ago, Drove through the old neighborhood, what a mess McLemore & College turned into. Also drove Uptown with memories of "Driving" up and down Main St from Beale to Court Square and back again. "That didn't happen", what's with the bricks?. No wonder everything moved out east.Naturally after years of Leonard's B-B-Q on Bellevue, always after the drive in movies, Boy was that a real let down, first had to find the "New" Leonard's and drive forever to get there, there was NO B-B-Q smell in the air and it was really nasty.
