Good Evening, for all of you who do not know me I'm Toni, the very proud big sister of the Bride. Let me start by congratulating Bo and Mike and thank you for all coming today. When I look at the bride and groom, I feel such emotions of excitement, joy and the knowing that my sister has found her true love. I know you have a wonderful adventure ahead of you and with God's blessing your marriage will last decades to come. I never really new Mike before he dated my sister but I do know that he is a wonderful man who will take care of her and treat her well. I can't really tell you any horrible stories about mike but I do have a few I would like to share about BO. First Bo I would like to note how beautiful you looked today and tell you this has been a truly special day for me. Thank you for being the true meaning of sister and for sharing the last 28 years with me. As children growing up in a house with 8 plus children it can be exciting and changeling at times. As toddlers Nancy, Bo and I would go to Nan's in Lancaster every weekend. We were always known as the triples. Mom or Daddy would drive us all the way to turkey Hill ( which was the half way point between nans house and ours) Nancy and I would run out of the car and jump into Nans, but not Bo. (who was always known as Baby Bo) she would cry and cry until either mom, daddy would take her home or she would get into Nans station wagon and press her face against the back window and cry until they were out of sight (and I know you remember that third seat in the back of the old station wagons that out face backwards) Bo was Moms little girl. Nancy and I were the ones getting in to trouble and BO would sit there with her big brown eyes and look so cute. Bo at the age of three decided that she was moving out, packed her backs and with her little fur coat on came down the stairs and out the front door. She only got to the end of the porch before she got to scared and ran back inside. As we got older Charlie...Expand for more
played football at BYC and Shelley, Nancy Bo Me and yes even DJ all cheered his team on. We would sing our cheers over and over again and thought we were so great. The three of us would always follow Shelley around when she had friends over and never leave her alone, we would make Shelley play school with us and we were all her students. We all looked up to her she was our big sis. Growing up there a couple of people who became family and I would like to share a few fond memories. We would always play with Stevie and Todd cooper, Luke and Jesses Cotton. Jason and Dj were in separable. We always had great times playing in the club house that was a van in the woods. The time that we all went to the beach in O.C. Maryland in the Hoopty, When we watched Howard the duck over and over again at aunt Mary's and Uncle Steve's, The shows we used to put on at nans house, The fourth of July party where Bo almost drowned b/c she was trying to show everyone how she could swim with one swimmy and forgot to put it on and jumped in the pool, As we become older, we welcome a new part of our family. Dave who we call Dad, Granny Janny and Ada who would make us Grill cheese sandwiches and our two younger brothers mikey and bubba who we love dearly. Bo don't forget all the great times at the old house from the dress up games in the front yard, making our bedroom look like pulsations on New years eve, and you getting bite on the but by the Crawford's dog. We can't forget the great times we had with the Neumann Crew thought out the years. Today we are here to celebrate the wonderful union of these two great people. May your lives be filled with love, excitement and joy as mine as been with my loving husband Michael and our three beautiful children. I would like to share these two quotes that I came across when I was writing my speech: Remember "Marriage is a wonderful invention, but then again is the vacuum cleaner" (by an unknown author) "The Best and Most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart) By Helen Keller Please let's raise our glass while I toast my sister and her husband: BO and Mike Take each day and cherish your time together, Love one another and stand together. Take time to talk to each other. Put your love and your family first; your jobs and your hobbies second. May your love be like the wind, strong enough to move clouds, soft enough to never hurt, but always never ending? To Love, laughter and happily ever after. Cheers I love you both".
