Life I was born in Sarasota & attended Alta Vista, Brentwood, McIntosh and Riverview Schools. I spent my high school years trying to stick out as little as possible. I stayed buried in a book - even reading in the halls as I went from class to class & was never part of any group. I was not much involved in the 'doings' of the class during high school. I also was the target of various class bullies from elementary thorugh high school. The class I enjoyed the most, in high school, was Col. McNary's world history class!! He was a great teacher!! I never got the chance to tell him that before he died. The teacher that is most memorable is Mr. Theory - band teacher at McIntosh Middle School. His compassion & honest timely interest in what was happening to me during those years made a real difference in my life and ability to cope. My mom drove school bus for many of those years. My dad was Managing Editor of the Sarasota Herald Tribune. I have a younger sister, Laurel, who went to SHS :0( - LOL and now teaches world class windsurfing & kite-boa...Expand for more
