Kathy's Story
Life
After graduating, I went to business college in Denver. Began a career in Finance and Accounting. Finally landed a stable job in 1980 and was there until 2002 when the infamous "downsizing" bug hit the company and I became another casualty. I landed an admin assistant position with a CPA firm in Denver for over 5 years until again in 2008 I was sorta "downsized or my position was redirected" so I again became unemployed. I guess you can say that I went from pushing paper and numbers to pushing pills and doctors appointments. I became total care giver to my mom (not the most pleasant time in the world, but I had a roof over my head). In fall of 2010, I met a really cool gal who owns a small accounting, tax firm in Brighton. In 2012, my mom passed away from lung cancer. kinda felt empty for quite a while. However, i continued to work for the tax firm. I left that tax firm in 2015 and struck out on my own. I am now have a small company of my own (just me) to provide back office support and organization to small businesses and I do some individual taxes and bookkeeping, as well as some clothing alterations. All my years with the various companies has been a good experience and has given me comfort and confidence in my own endeavors.

vorced in 2001 and have one child who is will be going on 35 this year and I am extremely blessed to still have her. She received a heart transplant in September 2016 and doing amazing. She is married and a mother of a 15 3/4 year old son. Currently I share my life with 1 cat, 2 dogs, my aging self & my daughter, her husband and my grandson. Some days do prove to be challenging, none the less.
I've never left nor have a desire to leave Colorado or Denver/Boulder area. Still enjoy the mountains and the wild life in them, but aging issues do limit walking too many hours, but I can sit on my porch and enjoy the beauty of Colorado.
College -
Started Parks College right from high school. I really don't remember much except studying and working and surviving the long drive from Denver to Boulder (at the time). I do remember that the College was right next to Molly Brown's Denver home. (that was before it became an historical site - infact it was an apartment house at the time). At graduation from Parks, I started working. It was only a 2 year college so really no time to "frolic".
I really don't have much of a "life" as being a grandmother and self-employed and general life itself have a grip on that, but it would be nice to hear from old friends from school, so feel free to e-mail me anytime.
