Kathy's Story

Recently moved to Waukesha, WI, w/my cats. Graduated NTEHS, U.of Iowa, 10 yrs. in Chicago, 20 yrs in Glenview. Worked a variety of jobs; still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I do crafts: embroidery and beaded Christmas ornaments, both of which I've done since I was a kid; and plastic canvas tissue box covers. I recently started making jewelry and fashion wrist straps for canes. I petsit. I love to bake and cook. I'm getting adventuresome in my dotage. I love old movies. Big fan of TCM. Favorites: "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and It's A Wonderful Life." Fred and Ginger. Anything Cary Grant.(Sigh) I love books and words and writing. I actually have the better part of a novel written. But it needs rewriting due to technical difficulties. Darn computers. Thankfully, I have a hard copy. I love board games and word games and jigsaw puzzles. But I won't play Risk. I spend too much time on the internet. I love gardening and birdwatching. Fresh air. Hands in the dirt. Birds singing. Now that's good. I love getting together with friends and/or family for a good time. I like being different places but hate getting there. Where's a transporter when you want one. Scotty? I always wanted to be a retired when I grew up. My family and friends ...Expand for more
thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were still waiting to see how it all works out. Veg out in front of the tv or immerse myself in a jigsaw puzzle. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have food, drugs , and alcohol to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Mom. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is David Hicks, because he was my best friend in college.. I love cats. I currently live with 3. If I won $100 million, I'd give $20,000,000 of it to family members and friends, then spend the rest on taxes, charity and me. I lived in a dorm throughout college. I loved it. My current age is over 25. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely surprised. More like 40 years. I still go for comfort more than style. I share my home with 3 cats, which I find essential. Kathy and I met pre-kindergarten. We lived across the street from each other. We were best friends for many many years. Then life happened and we lost touch. But we have reconnected and it feels fine. My first job was at Anne's Pastry in Wilmette., where I got paid $2.35 to run the shop. What I remember most about it is Saturday mornings, a chocolat donut, still gooey, and ice cold milk. MMmmmMMm.
