Kathy's Story
Life
I met my wonderful husband, John in 1971 on a blind date which was arranged through my long-time friend, Kathy. We became great friends from day one and married after knowing each other only six months! We have lived in Tallmadge since 1979. We have three kids. Our oldest daughter has two children, a girl and a boy, who are the light of our lives! Our second daughter is married and has three children! Our son is living in Va.where he and his wife make their home. They have one child and one on the way...for a total of 6 grandchildren so far!. We are avid deer hunters and have nearly a thousand acres of land in Cadiz, OH where we spend most of our free time!
School
In school I imagine most people thought of me as stuck up or quirky...I don't know really. I know I didn't have a lot of friends or anything. I was just VERY EXTREMELY SHY. How I wish I could go back and do it over again. How I wish I could talk to some of the guys I had crushes on, for instance. :) How I wish I could find out if some of those girls who thought they were all that REALLY WERE all that once they ...Expand for more
were out in the real world. Life has a way of making us all equals once we have to face it together, doesn't it? One thing I've wondered about is...WHY HAVE I NEVER BEEN INVITED TO A REUNION???? :( lol The people living at the address I lived at in high school know me...I would still get it if it were sent there..so evidently it never was....:(
Workplace
I worked at Great Northern Savings in Barberton Ohio during my Senior year at Coventry and continued working there until 1972 when I quit to start a family. I remained at home raising my 3 children until they were all in school and then began working full time with my husband in his machine shop, which he'd started in our basement garage in 1977. As business grew he moved into bigger buildings and now has nearly 50 employees. I "retired" after 20 years to babysit my granddaughter when my daughter went back to college.
If I could have a say in how I am remembered from high school it would be...that I never made any trouble for anyone...that I never made fun of anyone, nor hurt anyone's feelings...that I was always compassionate.
