Kathy's Story
Life
Hi, everybody! I was married in April 1984, and became the mother of three children, Olivia, Gregory, and Timothy. I worked as a secretary at a real estate company for eight years, and then after the children were born, elected to be a stay-at-home Mom. :o) Later I worked at a daycare, and also part-time secretary for a lawyer here in Gloucester.
In June 2005, our daughter Olivia graduated from Gloucester High School. What memories that brought back to me! She is married now and works at the Suntrust Bank in Gloucester Point. Drop by and tell her that Mom says 'Hi!'Our son, Gregory, just graduated and is still deciding which college to attend. Timothy, our youngest child, is entering the 6th grade at the Middle School where we live
Say, when is the next reunion??? We recently moved in October 2007, and now live in West Virginia. Please, somebody get in contact with me if we have another reunion. I can't miss the next one!! I would love to hear from anyone :o) But you have to be a gold member; that's how Classmates makes their money..LOL. But seriously, I believe it is really important to stay in touch. Some of you I have known since 2nd grade, many years ago.
This year I had my 44th birthday. (And I imagine a few more of you have, too!) How odd and weird. My parents were younger than 44 when we got our diplomas in '82!!
When we moved, I pulled out an old box with all my GHS yearbooks, and our Senior year book. What a lot of m...Expand for more
emories! All that hair.....and tuxedos with "frilly" shirts and bow ties. Wow! I even found a pressed wildflower from our Senior trip that we took to the Virginia mountains. Lots of old pictures & lots of memories. Lots of friends signed my yearbook and I had to laugh..just about everyone said I was a bookworm. Some things never change. My love for books makes it impossible for me to get rid of any books once I buy them. I'm driving my hubby up a wall....every once in awhile he has to help me get yet another bookcase! I also had to laugh...many friends signed my yearbooks with stenography. I'm afraid steno is a dying art, and is going the way of the typewriter and carbon paper. And email...Yikes! Who would have imagined such a thing? If I remember right, ours was the last class who helped raise money to put computers in the classroom. We didn't get to see what we had helped to pay for. But the class my brother was in, who graduated in 1985, was the first to use the computers. We didn't see the fruits of our labor, but it was put to good use!
The little town we live in in WV (called Elkins) has quite a different take on education. They do not have a need for Deputies to walk on school grounds every day, as it has been happening at GHS...so my daughter told me. Things have changed a lot in this world, but I hope the friendships that everyone made at school will stand the test of time.
I hope everyone is well. God bless you all!
