Kathy's Story
Where do I start? I've been married to my husband for 19 years and we have a beautiful 5 year old daughter. We have lived in North Carolina for 17 years. I went back to school and got my teaching degree (I don't know what I was thinking), taught for 3 1/2 years and quit when I had my daughter. I didn't like teaching so it was an easy decision. I wouldn't have missed sharing the past 5 years with my daughter for anything. My husband is gone a lot because of his work so Ivy and I travel quite a bit.
My family is still in Alaska and I try to go up there every year to see them. We went up last July and caught 75 red salmon dipnetting at the mouth of the Kenai River. It was incredible! I miss my family and the mountains, but I don't think I could take the cold anymore. My husband lives for ice climbing and playing hockey and he would love to move back there. Bu...Expand for more

UPDATE:
It's been two years since I last posted and we are still in NC. We moved across town and I love our neighborhood. I went back to school and am now a licensed esthetician. I love the beauty biz. Now our daughter is seven and so tall! Like her DaddIvy and I went to New Orleans last August. We had a blast. We haven't been to Alaska in two years, but my Mom was able to come down here to visit. My brother in law came to visit (he was in South Carolina on business and made a side trip) and my little brother was stationed here in the army for the past 4 years. Much of the time in Iraq, but he is now out of the army and driving back home to Alaska. I have connected with a lot of school friends and my extended family on Facebook.
