Katie's Story
Life
I graduated from Lynchburg College in Viriginia in 1996 with a BA in severe/profound special education and got my MEd in behavioral disabilities in 1997 from Clemson Univ in South Carolina. I married my wonderful husband, Mike (also from DE), on October 30, 1999. On July 4, 2000 we had two tiny beautiful babies, Emma Margaret and Ethan Michael. On March 17, 2004 (St. Patrick's Day!) we had another beautiful baby girl, Clara Katherine. I am a counselor in public schools for students with behavior disabilities. Being a full time mother of eight year old twins, and a 4 year old, and working full time is exhausting, but we wouldn't trade it for the world! We live out in the middle of nowhere in the mountains of SC and we love it! My parents have also moved to the mountains of SC. We all miss DE a lot...Expand for more

Yes, I would definitly do it all over again....my biggest crush - do I have to answer??? I always fell for the guys with long hair!
College
I remember the nights more than I remember the days! Since I never really had a roommate...I do definitly miss the quiet and stillness of my own four walls! I go back to LC quite often to speak at conferences. I look up at my room all four years and think - just one night, just one more night. I never knew I had it so great! Workplace
I still work at the same job that I got right after I finished my graduate degree - my one and only job. I teach all the students in Pickens Cty, SC who have emotional and behavior dsiabilties
