Katie's Story
Life
My Spouse: After meeting a friend of his at a church retreat, I was introduced to Corey in 1996. We fell in love immediately and were married in August 1999. Corey is a very talented artist with a degree in graphic design and is currently working for Ingram Book as a graphic artist. We currently reside in Smyrna, TN. (Our picture above was taken at the Mardi Gras Orpheuscapade in 2004.)
My Child:
After being diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome, my husband and I decided to try and start a family in 2002. In February 2003, I found out I was pregnant. I had a difficult pregnancy and ended up in the hospital at 27 weeks for preeclampsia (toxemia). ng 14". I spent 3 days in ICU and almost lost my life while my baby girl spent 8 grueling weeks in the NICU. Autumn joined us at home on October 17, 2003 weighing 4 lbs. 2 ozs. and has had no complications due to her prematurity. We have been so blessed with our little miracle! She is my whole life as I am a stay-at-home mom enjoying my baby girl. We have since been involved with the March of Dimes to help other families like ourselves in the fight to save premature babies. My job:
Although I am a stay-at-home mom, I am a contractual professional face painter for company picnics, birthday parties, and special events. I have also had the priviledge of painting murals over the past 6 years and have begun experimenting with painted childrens' clothing.
