Katrina's Story
After graduating from Catherine, I went to work for Mr. Pete Jones, Wilcox County Tax Assessor for the summer; then Town-Country National Bank in Camden for five years.
I'd been taking courses at Patrick Henry, decided it was now or never so I quit my job and went to school full time - graduating from Judson College in 1988 with a BA in History and English with a minor in Religion. I left Judson heading to New York, going to work for the NY State Office of Parks Recreation & Historic Preservation at two different historic sites in the Hudson Valley - Clermont State Historic Site in Germantown for a year and then Olana State Historic Site in Hudson for a year and a half...great for an history major but I nearly froze to death!
I moved to Florida in '91; married in '93; bought a house in Sarasota County in '94 and adopted a two-month-...Expand for more
old baby girl in February '98.
She was 10 in December 07 -- her name is Genevieve - she has big beautiful brown eyes, four legs, and waggy tail!!
Genevieve wrote a couple of books - you can check them out at dogtellsall.com We traveled the country a good bit for her pawtograph sessions.
Upon my move to Florida in 1991 I got a job with the Florida Park Service at Gamble Plantation in Ellenton. In '94 I promoted to the District 4 Office where I worked with grants, volunteers, AmeriCorps, and friends groups for 31 state parks in South West Florida.
In 2003, I promoted to Park Manager of The Barnacle Historic State Park in Coconut Grove/Miami...and am loving every minute of it...

I'd love to hear what's happening with my fellow classmates - both from Catherine & Judson. Let me hear from you.
