Katrina's Story
This has been the busiest year ever for us. I started doing surveying for a marketing company out of BC and am still waiting on another contract to come out of Nova Scotia. I've been doing occasional surveys since the Spring and finally picked up my first permanent contract that will have me surveying a store out in Leduc biweekly. On the side I have still been maintaining my cake decor business, but it has expanded to include catering items even more so, as well as beverages. We have been looking for business ventures of the expanding kind; just wish would could find a location before it is snatched up by another company. We just got back from a wonderful holiday in Glacier National Park that sure made up for last years holidays. I'm so glad school is over as I am planning on taking back more of my life, having been on committees on going for the past four years is enough for now. I have so many other things on the go that if I can find the time maybe I'll attend a parent council meeting just to keep up with their plans. My change-over meeting is tonight for the preschool and couldn't be happier, at least I will still be the caterer for the Christmas concerts. ending only one Christmas event for schools in December already and its not even the middle of August! The mere convenience of it all is going to rock!
Right now we are planning our reaffirmation ceremony and big bash at my sister-in-law's bar downtown. It's our ten year anniversary this month and we couldn't be happier. Yeah, sure we've had our rocky roads like everyone else, but we are still in it for the long hall and lvoing every minute of it. I'm crazy excited to say I'm planning on wearing my dress from ten years ago, yey it still fits even though my torso got much longer after having two kids, but going to punk it up a bit I guess you could say. I've really had to work at it, as mostly a stay at home mom for the past almost eight years its been harder to keep it off, especially working in the office a lot. Our kids are going to be the bridal party this time and once again are keeping it very intimate with close friends and family. Funny how ten years later its actually cheaper to do it again. If only all the flowers were $40, wow the money we would have saved, I even managed to get some pretty funky decor for around $40 too. Its going to be a blast!
Next on the agenda hopefully finalizing a contract to supply lemonade to a local bar and start another on going contract in September. Busy busy that's all I can say :o)
