Kay's Story
Life is what I have been up to.
I am a Counselor at Tidewater Pastoral Counseling Services and love my job. I am finally doing what I went to college for. I retired from teaching math in Chesapeake Public Schools in 2011 where I taught in the building from which my late husband graduated high school. Life has a way of coming full circle.
I have been on mission trips abroad which taught me how incredibly blessed I am. Seeing how the rest of the world lives was an eye opener for sure.
I am very active in my church (Elder, deacon,Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Emmaus Community). I, also, facilitate a 2 grief support groups weekly. I have 2 wonderful children who have given me three lovely granddaughters and one fantastic grandson and I lov...Expand for more
e the time I spend with them. Between counseling, church and attending the activities of my grands I have a rich and full life.
Up until the birth of my grandchildren I was very active in the political arena working on many local and state campaigns. I also have the privledge of giving many talks on drugs, grief, marriage, forgiveness, anger, motivating students, and death and dying. This acivity takes me up and down the eastern seaboard.
I have remained a widow since the death of my wonderful husband, Bill, in 1974. I spend a great deal of time alone and love music and reading.
