Kaye's Story
Life
The past twenty-two years I have lived in Asia, first Hong Kong for 10 years and now 11 in Beijing, P.R.C.
Single for the past 11 years I originally moved to Asia with a husband sent to Hong Kong by three Presbyterian churches to work with the Chinese Church Research Center (3 years). We then worked with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) for 7 years. All ten years were working with China but based from Hong Kong. Things in China were very different then from now.
The past eleven years in Beijing have included two years of intensive Mandarin language training and 9 years in business (real estate and relocation services). Seven years ago I opened the Beijing office of NAI Asia Pacific Properties, a Hong Kong based company. the US.... Will spend three months August-October 2006 looking into this... It will be good to have this much time in the US as time there is always too short.
Married for 20 years I have 4 lovely very grown up step-children and 6 grandkids... all in Portland....
Through Classmates.com I started connecting with people from BHS and Garden Home Grade School... what fun after living away from Portland for the past 30 years (2 years Bay area, and 9 years Seattle before moving to Asia).... attended our 35th HS reunion and so glad I did. Since then Garden Homers have gotten together for a party or picnic every time I am back in the area. This has meant so much to me... I think about my "re-entry" to the US. I am thankful for friends over there (yes old classmates) that encourage me in many ways. Love to hear from you! Kaye (Heick) Marshall
