A year working for Kleinschmidt Teleprinters, Draftsman 6 years Navy, Sonarman (Great Lakes, Key West - Training)USS McCloy (DE-1038). Just found out (4-13-11) that the Fleet Sonar School shut down and the base at Key west was decommissioned in 1974. The McCloy was decommissioned in '91 and sold to Mexico, renamed Nicolas Bravo, but has been decommissioned from them since 2014(?). 3 years college - Truman (Mayfair) College, Chicago and University of Illinois (Urbana & Chicago). 15 years (1977-1992) Control Data Corporation, mainframe/peripherals Service Engineer. 14 years (1994-2008) RF Engineer, Sprint Nextel - San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa - San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge. I drove all over the Bay area checking the cell phone service and coverage of the iDEN network. Started 10/2008 as a Train Control Electronics Technician with the Bay Area Rapid Transit District - BART. I passed a 4 month probation and have been assigned to the Graveyard shift out of Oakland. I love this work! I've been on the Graveyard job for over 9 years now (7/2018) and am still fascinated on the variety of problems we have to address and fix to keep the trains running safely and on time.
